Sarah Bowen Shea and Dimity McDowell are founders of Another Mother Runner, an on-line and in-person community for women runners. Sarah and Dimity launched their brand with the publication of their first of three books, entitled Run Like a Mother: How to Get Moving—And Not Lose Your Family, Job, or Sanity. Their brand and community encompasses a variety of elements, including a popular, twice-weekly podcast; training plans; annual membership program; virtual race series; online store; and in-person retreats.
A mom of three teens, Sarah lives in Portland, Oregon. She’s a veteran of 14 marathons, including qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon twice. Next 26.2 on her race docket: the Missoula Marathon.
Denver resident Dimity is a mother of two teens. Dimity loves a challenging adventure, whether completing the 2013 Ironman Coeur d’Alene, hiking the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim in 2019, and placing 3rd in her age group at the 2021 USA Triathlon Long Course Aquabike National Championships.
