Lori McGee Koch

Lori McGee Koch is an USATF certified coach and the Head Coach of Chicago Endurance Sports (CES) with over 15 years of distance coaching experience. She has coached athletes from the college cross country level all the way to the adult marathon club coaching level. Coach Lori has completed over 85 half marathons, 39 marathons, 2 ultra marathons and 5 triathlons. She has had two children during her time coaching at CES and trained and ran races during both pregnancies. She completed a 50k 7 weeks after having her 2nd child through figuring out the right amount of running and strength training that worked for her body. Since, she has coached several mothers to be on balancing fitness and running During her time as a coach she has been quoted in several publications including Runners World, The Chicago Tribune, and television appearances promoting fitness and proper training.

Her additional experience includes being an official Nike Run Pacer for 10 Bank of America Chicago Marathons, 8 other marathons across the region, and over 50 half marathons. She also is the race pace director for several large Chicago races including the Soldier Field 10 Miler, the North Shore Half Marathon, the Chicago Rock and Roll Half Marathon, and the Chicago Spring and Fall Half Marathons. 

By day, Lori is an occupational therapist by training and has a PhD in neuroscience with a specialty in sleep and performance. She currently works for Baxter as a manager of medical affairs developing and improving patient care support systems/improving pulmonary health in ICU’s.
