Rob Pope

His name is Rob Pope, but you might know him as Forrest Gump.

Forrest Gump, when you think about it, is probably the world’s best known ultra-athlete and in 2018, Rob became the first person to answer one of the most asked questions in ultrarunning:

“Could Forrest have actually survived his epic run?” Well, according to Rob, he could, after he himself retraced Forrest’s route from ALA-BAMA(!), running over 15,600 miles in 422 days, crossing America almost five times and finishing at the same spot Forrest did in Monument Valley. He returns to the USA for the first time since he said “I’m pretty tired. I think I’ll go home now”, having written about his and America’s story in the bestselling book “Becoming Forrest”. Come along to hear the incredible tales from the longest run to have ever taken place in a single country, at one of the most interesting times in its history.

Rumour has it he’s brought his running shoes with him. Surely that can only mean one thing? Maybe he’ll reveal all at the end of his talk…
